Hello and welcome to my new website.

Whilst the website is new I am not new to working as a therapist as many happy clients going back many years could testify.  I have spent the last three years as part of the The Clerkenwell Group, now the Clerkenwell Therapy Centre and on their website.  I have no intention of leaving Clerkenwell but felt I want to have my own presence and identity.  I also wanted to expand my practice geographically and have done so by joining an excellent clinic in Harley Street.

I am very excited about being able to share my work, the parts not bound by confidentially that is, and my ideas.  I plan to use the blog to comment on issues that may appear in the news that have a therapeutic arc or worthy of viewing from a therapist’s rather than populist view.

I would also like to use the blog to share some insights into aspects of my work that come up and to explain them in a way that will help you to understand more about your own behaviour and life even if it is not a particular problem for you.  For openings I’d like to write a series of articles about Metaprograms.

Metaprograms describe spectrums of behaviour.  Different Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) authors describe them differently.  Some believe there are 7 Metaprograms but L Michael Hall describes 51 different Metaprograms in his book, Figuring Out People.

It is not my intention to write a thesis but rather to illustrate them within the context of Cognitive Hypnotherapy baring in mind that one of the central planks of Cognitive Hypnotherapy is that everyone is different.

For some reason about a year ago, over a six week period, I found myself explaining to a number of new clients that having a tendency towards introversion was not a character flaw.  Therefore, and because most people have heard of the introvert/extrovert spectrum, I’m going to start with that one.
